And a book is born.
Pregnancy is not easy. In my family we like to say "Those nine months were the longest year of my life."
I don't really have a quip for when you conceived a book in 2004 that took 14 years to hit bookshelves. First of all it really didn't feel that long. I was writing and publishing a lot of stories and books between then and now. But it's important because the seed of the story comes from Folsom Field, CU's football field, which was enlarging back then. It looked like a giant prison. So it went to wondering in what sort of world would it be a prison?
I've done an interview that refers to this with Paul Semel and you can read it here.
I also am running a little fun promo. I'll send you a postcard with the picture of the cover, personalized with a drawing just for you! And it's a creepy drawing! Yay!
Anyway, I'm off to the dentist so double-yay. More later!
