Outrage
I have this theory that there is a fine line between engagement and outrage in world events. Sustained outrage is not good for the soul. It goes along with the idea that rehashing events and issues can sometimes give them too much importance, especially when there is limited means to act. (It's ok if those limits are self-imposed, also.) I think it's important we learn how to engage in healthful ways for our own selves. i’ll write fiction instead
The best advice I got as a writer was to think about what you want from social media and go after it. Certainly never use any platform you don't like. It makes sense for me historically and personality wise. It sends Tik Tok right out of there. I had a big following on Sex Scenes at Starbucks back in the late 'Oughts, a total time suck that I might have started monetizing. I dropped it because I didn't want to be a blogger for a living. I might be late in admitting it, but blogging totally kicked it awhile back. Sure there are still a few around and I recall fondly my own blogging days (also the work when you have thousands of visits a day, holy shee-it, the work). For whatever the reason, I seem to have limited words a day and spending them on blogging just fills me with a horrible dread. Heyyo, what's kickin', covid crew? This has turned into a busy summer despite no travel. Of course our house is totally redone* like many other houses in America (son #1 works at Home Depot and can attest to the 10x sales). We spent a lot of time at the lake.
